Reflection: Our school district is working to provide a "technological community" where staff, student, and parents are able to tap into various resources using technology. Our school, like many, has a district website that provides endless information about the district, the various schools, the staff, the current activities and meetings etc. In doing so, information is just a click away for any interested party.

Within the middle school, our staff is working to develop individual websites that provide specific information about his/her classroom. In doing this, teachers are no longer just a name on a door, or a name on the report card. Parents and students are able to view teacher websites to get more specific information about a particular teacher, and the content and requirements that are associated with the particular class. While all teachers do not have a website yet, we are working to help those that may need assistance.

I have attached my school website that I entitled "Dretke's Den." Within my website I have included my goals for students as well as my expectations. I believe by doing this, students and parents are better able to obtain a sense of who I am, and how we will work to achieve goals throughout the year. Additionally, various pages contain information about content specific information: novels, homework assignments, helpful links for reference etc.

My website is one piece of the middle school fabric. When all of the teacher websites are sewn together, parents and students are able to get a clear picture of our school. By creating these websites, we are working as a staff to provide students access to various technological information that will enhance their learning experiences.
